UMBRELLIT M 40

UMBRELLIT M 40 is a cationic chromium-III-complex compound in water, which is directly connected to the fibre material. The water repellent properties of the paper after treatment are excellent. UMBRELLIT M 40 is recommended for the paperboard manufacture, release paper and coated special paper. UMBRELLIT M 40 is available as a cationic chromium complex compound. Stock solutions are stable in an acid pH- range. At pH-values higher than 4.5 the chromium-complex decomposes. In this case the product’s colour will turn from green to blue due to the formation of chromium hydroxide. The solution gets turbid and inactive. UMBRELLIT M 40 can be combined with other additives such as cationic dispersions, cationic or nonionic starches, polyvinyl alcohol or cellulose-ether. In any case the compatibility of the components has to be checked before use.

OMBRELUB CD is a very finely dispersed calcium stearate dispersion in water. It is easily miscible with water in all ratios. OMBRELUB CD is an excellent friction agent, which improves the glaze during the calendering process. OMBRELUB CD can be added to the coating colour during any stage of the manufacturing process.
