QC Technician - 2nd Shift P3

POSITION SUMMARY:
The QC Technician - 2nd shift, works in the Food and Industrial plant (P3) in Clover, SC from 1430 - 2300 Monday through Friday, and reports to the Research and Quality Site Manager. This role enables the Production team to continue to operate during the 2nd shift by testing all samples that are brought into the lab (raw material, intermediate, or finished good samples), gathering all necessary microbial testing samples on finished goods, entering all QC data into the Münzing SAP system, creating product labels, processing the batch in the Münzing SAP system, and filing all paperwork in the appropriate locations. In the event there are inconsistencies in the production paperwork, or the paperwork is incomplete, it is expected for this position to work with the Production teams to investigate and correct the paperwork as needed. The QC Technician - 2nd shift also maintains a clean and safe laboratory environment.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Testing and communicating the status of intermediate and finished goods from Production. Communicating the status of incoming raw materials with the Warehouse and Purchasing teams. Working with Planners to ensure materials are processed in the SAP system in an accurate and timely manner. Communicating with the Production teams to perform investigations on inaccurate/incomplete paperwork.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Test all samples brought into the lab in accordance with testing instructions
- Instrumentation includes: Particle Size Analysis, FTIR, Brookfield viscosity, Ash Determinations, analytical scales, and Gardner color
- Assisting with product testing after manufacture
- Communicate to Production the results of sample testing and provide correction instructions as needed
- Confirm batch tickets and packing lists using SAP
- Enter QC data and make usage decisions in SAP
- Maintain lab equipment and laboratory space with upkeep and preventative maintenance
- Perform basic troubleshooting on laboratory instrumentation
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and actively promote and encourage safe work practices
- Adherence to Münzing's ISO 9001, 14001 Quality Management Systems and SQF system
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School diploma or GED equivalency, plus 2 to 3 years’ laboratory experience or equivalent technical training OR Associate of Science degree in Chemistry or a related field
· Basic chemistry, math, and computer skills required
· Strong data observation and interpretation skills
· Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
· Good analytical and problem-solving skills
· Attention to detail and accuracy, with ability to compare data, detect inconsistencies, and determine actions for resolution
· Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively and positively interact with supervisor, peers, and across functions
· Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple work deadlines
· Must be able to adapt to fast changing environments and prioritize effectively
· SAP experience preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to work an eight (8) hour shift in a lab environment. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time at a bench performing tasks. Must be able to lift objects that are less than or equal to 30 lbs. Will be required to use computer daily to effectively complete job functions for entire shift.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Travel Potential: 5-10%
